  1. Learning is not the same thing as receiving information
  2. Lectures are not the enemy of active learning
  3. Lectures should never be passive
  4. The loudest voice in the room is not always the smartest
  5. Technology should not be banned from the classroom
  6. The classroom is not the [only] classroom
  7. Humanities education is not about job skills, though it should never be detached from broad applicability
  8. Grades do not capture the entire picture
